Our Story
At SK Certified Roofing, our foundation is built on expertise, resilience, and a bold vision for doing things better.
Founded by Dena Morrissey, a licensed roofer, general contractor, and real estate professional, SK Certified Roofing reflects decades of hands-on experience and leadership in the construction industry.
Our founder—a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida with an engineering degree earned in 1994—began her career in architecture, mastering AutoCAD and quickly rising to become a project manager for major commercial hospitality clients, including industry giants like Universal Studios and Disney. Her work helped shape iconic spaces, blending technical precision with creative design in some of the most demanding environments.
In 2010, she launched her own construction company, steering it through economic recessions and global pandemics with grit and grace. As she led projects from start to finish, she found herself guiding clients through roofing decisions—choosing solutions, colors, materials, and schedules—while licensed roofers were rarely present. Their crews showed up, but not the roofer himself. She built strong relationships with those teams, managed them directly, and realized: why pay a premium for someone who wasn’t even involved?
So she made a bold move: she became a licensed roofer herself.
That same crew she trusted became her own. Fourteen years later, they’re still by her side—loyal, skilled, and committed to the same high standards she set from day one.
To stay well-rounded and ahead of the curve, she also earned a real estate license, giving SK Certified Roofing a unique edge in understanding property value, market trends, and how roofing decisions impact long-term investment.
Today, SK Certified Roofing is a woman-led company built on integrity, hands-on leadership, and a deep understanding of every layer—structural, aesthetic, and financial—that goes into a successful roofing project.
